Need to Burn Calories Fast? Try This Simple Time-Saving Hack

Anyone who has been in the Fitness Industry for over 1 weeks knows the #1 reason (EXCUSE) people don't workout is:

I Don't Have Time!

Anyone who has been in the Fitness Industry for over 2 weeks knows that is is complete nonsense and just a lazy excuse for being lazy and not wanting to workout.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with not wanting to workout - As long as you 100% own it and just live your life. I do have a problem with anyone who plays the victim card and feels that they are the only ones in the world with only 24 hours in a day while everyone has 30. Life is crazy, I get it. Work, Family, Responsibilities, they all add up and take up time. The thing is, you can't blame "Time" if you still manage to sleep in, watch tv, go out partying, or lay around all day. Again, I don't care if you do this but you need to own it.

All of that being said (sorry for the angry ranting), I fully understand how hard it is to hit the level of workouts you want to hit/need to hit in order to reach your goals. I have an amazing home gym in my garage, and yet I can't dedicate the same amount of time I did when I used to drive to a gym. Why? I'm not a 22 year old anymore. I have a job, I have a family, I have responsibilities. This in no way means that I still can't get an amazing workout in, it just means that I need to crush my workouts in 40 minutes instead of 90 (or the 2.5hours I used to claim was necessary in my 20s).

How can you make the most of your time in 30-40 minutes? Below are some quick tips to make your goals happen without neglecting your responsibilities.

  1. You will hate hearing this, but it is the easiest way to make this happen. WAKE UP EARLIER! It's honestly that easy. If you set your alarm for 6:30am and hit snooze until 7am - STOP! Set your alarm for 6:15am and get out of bed. By 6:30am you could be doing some form of physical activity that will get you closer to your goals. This could be a walk, a run, bodyweight exercises, or if you are lucky enough to have a home gym/nearby gym than hit the weights and hit them hard. Once 6:15am is part of your daily routine, start messing around with tiny changes such as 6:10am. You'll find that once you are hooked and love your morning exercise routine, you won't miss the extra 5 minutes. Just don't go crazy and try going from 6:30am to 4am, it will never work and you'll end up waking up angry and resetting the clock.

  2. Take advantage of your rest time. You'll be shocked what adding a quick, low intense movement can do between rest periods. Things as simple as High Knees, Jumping Jacks, Jump Rope, and Mountain Climbers will boost your heart rate and help burn the calories much faster. While some people will tell you that the "cardio" and lifting should be separate, you have to remember that you only have 30 minutes and you are looking for an hours worth of results.

  3. Post Meal Walks. This is by far the EASIEST activity you can add into your routine. Once you finish eating, just get up and walk for 10 minutes. Nothing fast, nothing intense, just MOVE. This is going to do a few things. First, prevent you from feeling sluggish. Second, put you in a much better mindset. Third, train your body and mind to be an active/fit person. You'll be surprised what adding such a simple and easy habit can do for you.

These 3 hacks can make a major impact on your results. I know that they all seem easy (at least #2 and #3, but people rarely need drastic changes. Remember, you can also add more changes and bigger changes later, the goal is to just get started and moving in the right direction.
