Yoga for Tennis #2

3 yoga poses for releasing shoulder tension:


Child’s pose:

How to do: Start in a table top position with wrists under the shoulders and knees under the hips. Lean back towards the heels and extend the arms out in front. Press the palms of the hands into the floor to increase the stretch in the shoulders. Continue taking deep breaths. 


Wide leg forward fold:

How to do: stand with your legs out wide and turn your toes in slightly. Lace the hands behind the back shoulder blades together. Bend forward from the hips to stretch down towards the floor while bringing the arms up over the head. Continue taking deep breaths.


Bridge pose:

How to do: Lay down on your back with your knees up and feet hips width distance apart, hands positioned at the side of the body. As you exhale, press the feet into the ground and lift the hips up, pressing the palms into the floor.
